Waupun Utilities was founded more than 100 years ago – by the citizens of Waupun. The community’s early founders voted to establish their own city-owned utility to provide light to its downtown area and to encourage economic development.

While a lot has changed over the past 100 years, the focus of Waupun Utilities has not. Today, Waupun Utilities still offers its residents some of the lowest electric rates in south central Wisconsin - rates significantly lower than those in territories that are served by investor-owned utilities.

Waupun Utilities also provides its customers with clean, high-quality water that meets or exceeds all state and federal standards. And, as part of the community, Waupun Utilities affords its citizens a voice in its decisions and programs.
