Water Plant Construction

Projects 2010

  • System Maintenance
Water valves exercised (opened and closed) as part of ongoing maintenance to keep the system in good working condition in the event of an emergency water turn-off. Water valves control various sections of water main and allow for system isolation in the event of a leak or emergency situation.

  • Water Plant In Operation
Construction of a new reverse osmosis water treatment facility was completed December 2007.

Pilot testing of the proposed water treatment equipment helped define the design of the plant to ensure superior quality water for Waupuns' residents.

Construction kicked off on March 19, 2007, and plant operation commenced mid-December 2007. The new water plant will serve the best interests of the City of Waupun for years to come as the technology chosen for the plant design is easily expandable and will allow compliance with more stringent treatment standards.

Pictured at right is an example of water and sewer infrastructure beneath the streets of Waupun. The water crew works below street level when installing or replacing water and sewer main, water services and sewer laterals.
