Lead Awareness and Customer-Owned Water Service Line Materials
Important Information Regarding Customer-Owned Water Service Lines
Waupun Utilities is committed to providing safe drinking water to all customers. As part of our ongoing efforts to comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), we are working to identify the materials used in customer-owned water service lines and notify customers if their lines contain lead, galvanized material, or have an unknown material status.
What You Need to Know:
-
Why We Are Sending Letters:
-
Under the EPA's revised regulations, all public water systems in Wisconsin must submit an initial Service Line Materials Inventory to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
-
As part of this compliance effort, Waupun Utilities is notifying affected customers about the materials used in their customer-owned water service lines.
- If your service line contains lead, galvanized material (recommended replacement), or has an unknown material status, you will receive a targeted notification letter from us.
-
Types of Notifications You May Receive:
