Design-Build Base Building Project
Waupun Utilities – Waupun, Wisconsin
Waupun Utilities is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the design and construction of a new approximately 60' x 120' x 18' commercial base building to support utility operations and equipment storage.
The project will be completed using a Design-Build delivery method and includes engineering, preparation of State of Wisconsin-approved building plans, coordination of required State approvals, and construction of the building in accordance with the project specifications.
Project Overview
The selected contractor will be responsible for providing the labor, materials, equipment, engineering, supervision, and other services necessary to complete the project.
The base proposal generally includes:
- Design-Build services
- Engineering and stamped drawings
- State of Wisconsin plan submission and review coordination
- Concrete foundation and floor slab
- Structural building package
- Roofing and siding systems
- Overhead doors and operators
- Service doors and hardware
- Building erection
- Freight and delivery
- Cleanup and debris removal
- Manufacturer warranties
- Minimum one-year workmanship warranty
The building is intended to be an unheated storage/shop facility. Detailed building specifications and project requirements are included in the Request for Proposals.

Contractors are encouraged to visit the project site prior to submitting a proposal to become familiar with existing conditions, access, and project requirements.
Contractor Qualifications
Proposers should have experience with similar commercial building projects and must provide a minimum of three project references for comparable work. Contractors must also be properly licensed to perform work in the State of Wisconsin and maintain adequate staffing and equipment to complete the project.
