WISCONSIN DELLS — Jen Benson, Waupun Utilities office and customer service supervisor, and the utility itself were recognized Thursday, Sept. 19 during the 2024 WPPI Energy Annual Meeting in Wisconsin Dells. The utility is a member-owner of WPPI Energy, a joint action agency and wholesale energy provider.
Benson achieved certification in joint action leadership. The program offered through WPPI Energy is a two-year commitment that broadens the graduate’s knowledge in five key topics within the electric utility industry.
Waupun Utilities was also recognized for its milestone 130th anniversary.
“Jen is always working to be better in her role,” said Waupun Utilities General Manager Steve Brooks. “It will be of no surprise to anyone that she dedicated her time to in-depth learning about the industry and using that knowledge to amplify her great leadership skills. Dedicated employees like her are a great example of why our utility has served the community for over a century and will continue to do so in the future.”
Founded in 1894, Waupun Utilities is a municipally owned and operated electric and water utility, serving more than 4,000 customers in Waupun, Wisconsin.
